4th Anniversary Pop-up (MAIDO, Lima, Peru)

It’s with grand pleasure that we present Mitsuharu 'Micha' Tsumura of Maido in Lima. Combining traditional Japanese cooking with Peruvian ingredients, Maido introduced Nikkei cuisine to the world and gave Peru one of its absolute finest restaurants; the ingredients of both cultures complement each other as if they had been born to be one. It's an honest cuisine with unique textures and flavours. Nikkei has taken most of the culinary world by storm and crowned it last fall by having Maido voted as "Latin America's Best Restaurant", while also moving rapidly up The World’s 50 Best Restaurant List, from #42 in 2015 to an impressive #8 in 2017. Micha brings this cultural heritage and philosophy to Denmark by the use of classic Peruvian products while also combining them with the best of the Nordic, working with Llama head chef Andrew Valenzuela and the Llama team. On Thursday April 5th Llama celebrates their 4th Anniversary by having Latin America’s Best Chef cooking a delightful tasting menu for our guests. During a night of grand celebration ‘Micha’ Tsumaru cooks 8 courses of the finest Nikkei possible.


Celebrating our 4th anniversary in april, we have invited one of Peru's finest restaurants MAIDO and head chef Mitsuharu 'Micha' Tsumura to Llama for an exclusive pop up dinner on APRIL 5th 2018 Maido has been the driving force in introducing the Nikkei kitchen, the original fusion of Japanese and Peruvian heritage kitchen, to the world. Last fall Maido was voted as "Latin America's Best Restaurant", while also moving rapidly up The World’s 50 Best Restaurant List, from #42 in 2015 to an impressive #8 in 2017. Hvert år uddeler Berlingske Tidende AOK prisen Byens Bedste i en række kategorier. Som altid har juryen udvalgt dem de finder har gjort det bedst i årets løb, og derefter er det op til folket at bestemme hvem der løber med laurbærrene ved afstemning. Netop fordi det er folkets stemme der i sidste ende bestemmer hvem der er Byens Bedste, er det en ekstra stor ære at vinde denne pris. Llama Restaurant & Bar vandt Byens Bedste på Budget 2016. Det er andet år i træk at Llama har vundet i denne kategori og det er vi dobbelt så glade for. Det er altid dejligt at vinde priser og få et klap på skulderen når man arbejder hele året på at gøre alting lidt bedre, hele tiden. Men at vinde to år i træk er en kærlighedserklæring vi er meget stolte af. Vi vil gøre alt hvad vi kan for fortsat at gøre tingene lidt bedre hver dag og forhåbentlig leve op til publikums stemme også fremover. Vi elsker at løbe med laurbærrene. Men vi har ikke tænkt os at hvile på dem. Tak for jeres stemmer og opbakning.

Welcome to Llama Restaurante & Bar Latinoamericano in Copenhagen.
Llama is among the first restaurants in the region to draw on the flavors of the Latin American
continent. Inspired by Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, and, moving a bit to the north, Mexico,
the menu features ceviches, anticuchos, Uruguayan-style meats, tacos, and a list of South American
spirits. But Llama is without question rooted in the Nordic region and aims to thoughtfully and
sensibly marry the South American inspiration with Scandinavian products and recipes.
